The Discovery School Day Camp

for children ages 3 - 11

Welcome to a summer where imagination builds, splashes, and soars! On our 7-acre nature campus, campers ages 3–11 become engineers of the woods, artists of the maker space, and explorers of wild wonder. They kayak across calm waters, design forts from branches and grass, and dive into days filled with field games and surprises like slip ’n slides, roasting marshmallows, treasure hunts, soccer games, and camp-wide parties. Expect hands to be dirty, smiles to be wide, and hearts to be full!

Woodland Wonders (ages 6 - 11)

Playful Pollinators (ages 3 - 5)

Our youngest campers grow, play, and explore in a nurturing space designed just for them! Each day follows a comforting rhythm full of joy and discovery.  During playtime, campers rotate through engaging activities like sensory exploration, creative arts, music and movement, and imaginative play. Then it’s time to head outside for a cozy picnic-style snack and story under the trees, followed by a nature adventure to discover the wonders of our seven-acre campus.  After cooling off indoors with lunch and a little rest, we head back outside to enjoy our Daily Special. Depending on the day, campers might enjoy water play, a treasure hunt, backyard games, a s’mores-style snack mix around the “campfire”, tent play, or our joyful Playful Pollinator end-of-week celebration!

NOTE: Campers must be potty trained to attend camp. Playful pollinators do not kayak on the pond.

Woodland Wonders (ages 6 - 11)

Our older campers dive into days full of adventure, friendship, and discovery! A consistent routine gives them a comfortable rhythm to their day, balancing familiar structure with the excitement of new experiences. Each day, campers visit our six discovery stations, where they build independence, explore the wonders of our nature campus, and express their creativity through hands-on activities. Our discovery stations include the Nature Playground (daily special), Frog Field (team games), the Whimsical Woods (drama and music), Stick Village (building and engineering), the Wishing Pond (kayaking and nature exploration), and our Maker Space (materials, tools & imagination).

As friendships grow, so does the fun! Our program encourages teamwork, laughter, and just the right amount of friendly competition. Every day brings a brand-new adventure, bursting creativity, and camp magic!

A Day in the Life of a Woodland Wonder camper…

  • Families may drop off their children early! During this time, children will engage in open-ended play and group games in our gymnasium.

  • As campers arrive, they go to their animal room where they listen to music, engage in small group play and get to know their counselors and new friends!

  • All Woodland Wonders campers and counselors come together for skits, campfire songs and fun!

  • Whimsical woods is a large wooded area that is home to our outdoor nature theater.  This is a magical place where campers may enter the world of imagination through music, song, dance and theater games, often culminating in a child-created performance at the end of the week.  Our counselors are trained by theater professionals to support campers with the basics of acting, as well as developing their own scripts, setting and costume design!  While plots may be silly and oftentimes take unusual twists and turns, it’s a true joy to see children owning and immersing themselves in this creative experience.

  • Frog Field is a large flat outdoor area perfect for team building activities and all sorts of field games! It also holds our shaded areas, including the hoop house, tetherball court, tire snake, benches, sandpit and rock garden.  Through collaborative team building and group games, our campers improve motor skills, gain confidence, as well as make social connections with one another.

  • Let your inner engineer out! Using large branches, twigs and grasses, campers create a world of their own in our very own stick village!

  • Campers pick up their prepared lunches and choose a spot to picnic, or cool off in their animal room if they need a break from the heat.

  • Spending time at our pond each day is both a calming and exciting sensory experience.  Your child will learn to use their senses to become aware of and connect with the natural world.  Campers have the opportunity to kayak, climb trees, relax with friends, as well as use nets to explore pond life.  We often observe toads, dragonflies, fish, crawfish, geese and non-venomous snakes here throughout the summer months, providing a natural teacher as our campers learn about the pond ecosystem.

  • Our maker space is a catalyst for creative thinking and innovation. In our safe and inspiring environment, campers take risks without the fear of failure and are empowered to see themselves as inventors and creators!  A variety of tools, loose parts and creative materials are rotated throughout the summer to inspire creativity and fresh ideas.  Our maker space provides a great opportunity to cool off, use our imaginations, and get creative with friends.

  • Animal groups will find a shady spot on campus to enjoy a restful snack break. This is a good time to cool off, refresh sunscreen, fill the water bottle, and use the bathroom.

  • It’s daily special time! This is a super special surprise meant to keep things fresh and exciting!  Our daily surprises include activities such as slip n’ slides, whole campus treasure hunts, making s’more at our campfire ring, surprise counselor vs. camper games, and more!  Our special activities take place at our Nature Playground so campers may also explore our tree climbers, play on the swings, try out the slackline, or simply relax in the shade with friends.

  • Campers head back to their animal rooms to pack up, cool down, and reflect on the day’s adventures. During this time, we may share about the day, engage in a relaxing game, or sing songs as a group in our classrooms as we wait for parents and caregivers to arrive and check us out.

  • Children can be picked up at camp anytime between 3:45pm - 4:00pm each afternoon. During this time, children enjoy relaxing games and/or songs with their counselors and friends!
